ROWAYTON, Conn., March 8, 2019 – Eaton Partners, one of the world’s largest private capital advisory and fund placement firms and a wholly owned subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF), has been named "Placement Agent of the Year" in Asia and also "Secondaries Advisor of the Year" in Asia by Private Equity International, a leading publication dedicated to reporting on the global private equity industry.

"We are honored to be once again acknowledged by PEI for our fundraising efforts globally," said Charlie Eaton, founder of Eaton Partners. "These two distinct accolades are symbolic of the effort we put in to champion innovative, forward-looking investment ideas and showcase the creativity of both our team and our clients across the globe," he added.

This marks the fourth straight year Eaton Partners has been recognized as Placement Agent of the Year in Asia.

"Eaton Partners has always taken a research-driven approach to identifying key themes in Asia and maps the market for best in class managers," summarized Private Equity International. Eaton was also recognized as "the brains behind one of last year’s most innovative deals in Asia-Pacific: the yuan to dollar restructuring of a portfolio of assets held by Loyal Valley Capital." The transaction, understood to be the first transaction of its kind, involved stakes in early stage healthcare companies and Chinese "unicorns". Eaton attracted high quality names to back the deal including Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC, and the transaction was worth at least $500 million.

Chris Lerner, global partner and head of Asia for Eaton Partners, told the publication that 2018 was a milestone year, with Eaton completing closes on five funds in the region totaling in excess of $1B in capital commitments. He also noted that Eaton Partners "is proud to continue to build on our track record of providing highly structured solutions to satisfy the needs of stakeholders in complex transactions."

Winners for the PEI Awards 2018 were based on the votes of thousands of industry professionals, which include limited partners in Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East as well as general partners, lenders, accountants, lawyers and consultants.
